Marq Creative Studio - Transform Your Template Management

Marq Creative Studio is a powerful admin portal designed to help you manage your template library at scale. Say goodbye to updating templates one-by-one—Creative Studio lets you bulk update, schedule, and organize dozens or hundreds of templates in minutes.

Admin-only feature: Creative Studio is exclusively for admins and will not affect how your users see or access templates.

  • Update template names, descriptions, and sharing settings efficiently

Perfect for: Large organizations with complex template libraries and multiple team structures.

Template Status Management

Organize templates using six status types: Published, Scheduled, Expired, Draft, Unpublished, and View Only. These statuses help you track where each template is in its lifecycle.

Understanding Template Statuses

Creative Studio introduces organized template statuses to help you manage your library lifecycle:

Published
What It Means: Template is live and shared with selected groups
Visibility to Users: Visible

Scheduled
What It Means: Template is set to publish or unpublish at a future date
Visibility to Users: Not visible (until publish date)

Expired
What It Means: Template has passed its scheduled end date and is no longer live
Visibility to Users: Not visible

Draft
What It Means: Template exists but hasn't been shared with anyone yet
Visibility to Users: Not visible

Unpublished
What It Means: Template has been manually removed from the library
Visibility to Users: Not visible

View Only
What It Means: Template is visible but cannot be edited (template admin permission setting)
Visibility to Users: Visible to assigned users

Important: Template statuses are admin-only information. Users will simply see templates as either available or unavailable—they won't see status labels.

Bulk Updating Templates

One of Creative Studio's most powerful capabilities is the ability to update multiple templates simultaneously.

Editing Names, Filters, and Descriptions

  1. Select the checkbox next to each template you want to update (or select all)
  2. Click Edit in the toolbar that appears
  3. Choose which field to edit: NameFilters, or Description

For names and descriptions, you can:

  • Add before — Add a prefix to existing names (e.g., "2024 -" before template names)
  • Add after — Add a suffix to existing names (e.g., " - ARCHIVED" after names)
  • Replace — Completely replace the existing name or description

Example use case: Add "Holiday 2026 -" as a prefix to all seasonal templates to easily identify and manage them as a group.

Bulk Sharing Updates

  1. Select the templates you want to share (or update sharing for)
  2. Click Share in the toolbar
  3. Choose your sharing action:
  • Add to selected groups — Add additional teams or users while keeping existing access
  • Remove selected groups — Remove specific teams or users from template access
  • Replace all — Remove all current access and grant access only to newly selected groups
  1. Optionally check Notify new groups via email to alert users about new template access
  2. Click Update to apply changes

Important: When using "Replace all," the template will be unshared from ALL existing groups and shared only with the groups you select. Use this carefully when reorganizing template access.

Scheduling Templates

Creative Studio's scheduling feature automates template publishing and expiration—perfect for campaigns, seasonal content, and brand updates.

How to Schedule Templates

  1. Select one or more templates you want to schedule
  2. Click More actions in the toolbar
  3. Select Schedule
  4. Configure your schedule:
  • Publish date: When the template should go live and become visible to users
  • Expiration date (optional): When the template should automatically be removed from user view
  1. Set the time zone (defaults to your account owner's time zone)
  2. Click Schedule to confirm

Note: You can pre-share templates with groups before the publish date. Users won't see the template until it goes live, but access permissions will already be configured.

Scheduling Options

  • Publish only — Set a future start date for templates to go live automatically
  • Expire only — Set an end date for currently published templates to come down
  • Publish and expire — Set both start and end dates for time-bound campaigns

Example use case: Schedule all Valentine's Day templates to publish on January 15th and automatically expire on February 15th—no manual intervention required.

Filtering and Searching Templates

Creative Studio makes it easy to find exactly what you're looking for in large template libraries.

Available Filters

  • Search by name — Type any part of a template name in the search bar
  • Filter by groups — Select one or more groups to show only templates shared with them
  • Filter by categories — Narrow down by your custom template categories
  • Filter by filters — Use your custom filter tags to locate templates
  • Filter by status — Show only Published, Scheduled, Expired, Draft, Unpublished, or View Only templates

Combining Filters

You can apply multiple filters simultaneously to narrow your results. For example:

  • Filter by "Marketing Team" group + "Published" status to see all live templates for that team
  • Filter by "Social Media" category + "Scheduled" status to review upcoming social templates

Click Apply after selecting your filters, and click Clear to reset all filters.

Publishing and Unpublishing Templates

Publishing Templates

  1. Select the template(s) you want to make live
  2. Click More actions Publish
  3. Confirm your selection

Published templates become immediately visible to all groups they're shared with.

Unpublishing Templates

  1. Select the template(s) you want to remove from user view
  2. Click More actions Unpublish
  3. Confirm your selection

Unpublished templates remain in your Creative Studio library but are no longer visible to users. Admins can still view, edit, and republish them at any time.

Unpublishing vs. Deleting: Unpublishing hides templates from users while keeping them in your admin library. Deleting permanently removes templates from Marq with no recovery option—use carefully!

Editing Individual Templates

While Creative Studio excels at bulk updates, you can also edit individual templates:

  1. Click on any template to open its detail view
  2. From here you can:
    • Edit template details — Update name, description, sharing, scheduling, and approval settings
    • Edit design — Click Edit design in the upper right to open the template editor
  3. Click the back arrow in the upper left to return to the main Creative Studio view

Tips for Using Creative Studio Effectively

Organize Before You Update

Use filters to isolate the exact templates you need before making bulk changes. This prevents accidentally updating the wrong templates.

Use Descriptive Prefixes

When managing multiple campaigns or teams, add consistent prefixes to template names (e.g., "Q1 2026 -" or "EMEA -") to make searching and filtering easier.

Schedule Ahead

Build and schedule templates well in advance of launch dates. This gives you time to review and reduces last-minute rushes.

Archive with Expiration Dates

Instead of manually unpublishing old templates, set expiration dates on new templates from the start—they'll automatically come down when no longer needed.

Pre-share Scheduled Templates

Configure group access when you schedule templates. When the publish date arrives, everything is already set up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my users see Creative Studio?

No. Creative Studio is exclusively admin-facing. Your users will continue accessing templates exactly as they do now.

Who has access to Creative Studio?

All admins in your account—including Account Owners, Team Admins, and Template Admins—have access to Creative Studio.

Can template admins edit all templates in Creative Studio?

Template admins can view all templates but can only edit templates they have permission to modify. Other templates will appear as "View Only."

What happens when a template expires?

Expired templates are automatically unpublished and removed from user view. They remain in Creative Studio where admins can republish or reschedule them.

Can I make scheduling recur automatically each year?

Not currently. You'll need to reschedule templates each year. Recurring scheduling is planned for a future Creative Studio update.

What time zone is used for scheduled publishing?

Scheduling defaults to your account owner's time zone. You can adjust the time zone when setting up each schedule.

What happens if I delete a template?

Deleting a template permanently removes it from Marq with no way to recover it. If you want to remove a template from user view but keep it available, use "Unpublish" instead.
