[Integrations](https://help.marq.com/integrations?hsLang=en) # Connect Canto to Marq with your own Canto app ## Connect Canto to Marq so your team can use approved Canto images directly in their projects. A Canto admin creates an API app in Canto, then a Marq admin enters its App ID and App Secret in Marq's Canto settings. Marq connects to Canto through an API app that you create in your Canto account. You'll create the app in Canto, copy its App ID and App Secret, and enter them in Marq. ### Before you start You need admin access in Canto to create an API app. On a Canto trial account, ask your Canto account representative for API keys. You need to be a Marq account admin who can manage app integrations. ### Step 1: Create an API app in Canto 1. Sign in to Canto and go to Settings \> Configuration Options \> API. 2. Select Create API Key. 3. Give it a name you'll recognize, such as Marq. The description is optional. 4. In Redirect URL, enter exactly: [https://app.marq.com/content-extensions/canto/oauth](https://app.marq.com/content-extensions/canto/oauth) 5. Select Finish to save the app. Important: Canto allows only one redirect URL per app, and Marq can't connect without it. Don't leave this field blank. ### Step 2: Copy your App ID and App Secret 1. In the API list, find the app you just created and select the edit (pencil) icon. 2. Copy the App ID and the App Secret. Keep the App Secret somewhere safe. Anyone who has it can act as this app. ### Step 3: Add the app to Marq 1. In Marq, open the App Marketplace and select Canto. 2. Select Configure (or Install, if Canto isn't installed yet). 3. Enter your Canto Tenant Name, App ID and App secret. The tenant name is the first part of your Canto address, such as yourcompany for yourcompany.canto.com. 4. Select Save. After you save, Marq never shows the secret again. The field shows only its last four characters, for example "Saved secret ending in f0a1". Leave the field blank to keep the saved secret. ### Step 4: Connect Canto in the editor 1. Open any Marq project. 2. Open the Images panel and select Canto under Browse Drives. 3. Sign in to Canto when prompted and approve access. Your Canto folders and albums now appear, ready to drop into your projects. Each user signs in to Canto the first time they use it. Changing or rotating your app New secret, same app: in Marq, open Canto \> Configure, enter the new secret and save. Different Canto app: enter the new App ID and its secret. Marq won't pair a new App ID with an old secret. After you change apps, each user is asked to sign in to Canto again the next time they open it. ### Troubleshooting "This account's Canto app credentials could not be read": Marq couldn't use the saved app. Re-enter the App ID and secret under Canto \> Configure, then try again. If it persists, contact Marq support. Canto shows an error after you sign in: check that the app's Redirect URL in Canto exactly matches the URL in Step 1, with no trailing slash or extra spaces. No API option in Canto settings: API access may not be on for your Canto plan.
